They come bare root, with minimal soil and water absorbing crystals. These are grown in a cell size of 2 inches by 2 inches by 2 inches deep. The plants you will receive will be freshly rooted/well-established plants that are ready to be planted. We ship bare root to ensure hygiene and to abide by state laws of plant material sales. It has since been introduced to eastern North America. General Description: A widely popular ornamental, flowering, evergreen groundcover. Hardiness Zone: 3 to 9 Maintenance: Low Mature Height: 6 to 12 inches Mature Width: 12 to 18 inches We recommend planting them 4 to 6 inches apart for adequate coverage within 2 to 3 years. Pachysandra makes a wonderful filler for those places that don’t like to grow anything else. We have seen our customers plant beautiful beds under and around their favorite shade trees. The wonder of gardening is that your imagination is the limit to the wonder of possibilities. Plant Details: Growth Habit: Slowly spreads by new stems sprouting from the spreading root system. It can take about 3 years to establish a solid groundcover. Leaf Structure: Alternate, simple, obovate, glossy green measuring 2 to 4 inches long. They appear to be whorled in clusters at the stem ends.
