Included in this package are: Olympus OM-10 Body (Serial # 1880405). Vivitar MC (Multi-Coated) Macro Focusing Zoom 1:5.6-6.7 / 100-300 mm (Serial # 09740454).Vivitar Front Lens CapNOTE: This is an Olympic Version of the OM-10, made for the Calgary Olympics (Please note the decal on the right front side of the top plate in the pictures) Camera background: The OM-10 is a Manual Focus Aperture-Priority Camera that was manufactured in Japan from 1979 to 1987. It was the first consumer Olympus OM Series body. The OM-10 was targeted for the “Middle Range” of the market and was extremely successful. While the OM-10 is a Aperture-Priority camera, it was designed so that it could have an optional “Manual Adapter” attached which allowed the manual setting of shutter speeds. This attachment allowed the camera to be used in Manual Mode. Due to it’s smaller and lighter body construction, ease of use in Aperture and Manual operation, and excellent picture quality, this is an excellent everyday shooter and/or student camera (Needs Manual Adapter to make a good student camera). Condition of this camera: Optics: Very good to excellent condition Viewfinder in very good condition, it is bright with 4-5 very small dust specs (will have no effect on pictures).Lens is in excellent condition: glass is clear and bright with no fungus, scratches, or cleaning marks. It has very small amount of fine dust evident on back lighting the lens (will not effect picture quality). Lens mounts easily. Lens depth of field preview working well.Aperture is snappy with positive engagement at all setting. No oil on blades. Mechanical: Excellent conditionShutter is snappy at all speeds and “B” and “Auto” modes. Shutter speeds were tested with the use of a Manual Adapter. Calibration appears accurate. Light meter is working and displaying accurately in viewfinder. Good calibrationOn/Off working as designed with all switch positions tested: Self Timer; Off; On; and Battery Check.Battery compartment in excellent condition with no corrosion. Camera requires 2 1.5v S76 or SR44 or equivalent button batteries. (Batteries not included). Battery check working.”NEW SEALS INSTALLED” Film door seals and mirror bumper foam were replaced.Wind/Rewind; ASA and Mode dials, Frame Counter, Self Timer, and Hot Shoe are all working as designed and operating smoothly.Cosmetics: Good (above average) condition.Leatherette is excellent – intact with no lifting.Top plate is good condition with some very light scratches and rub marks.Bottom plate is in average condition with a multiple light scratches.Lens body is in excellent condition – no scratches or rub marks. Comments: Good example of a Olympus OM-10 in excellent mechanical condition. Optical in very good to excellent condition. Cosmetic condition is good (average) condition (replace the bottom plate and cosmetic condition would be very good). The Vivitar lens on this camera is a high quality lens made in Japan. This OM10 package is in very good overall condition and is fully functional. This camera would make a great every day shooter. Without a manual adapter and with a more complex lens to master, this would likely not make a good beginner student camera.
