eBay French LONGWY STYLE CLOISSONE CERAMIC LAMP This is a beautiful French cloisonne lamp that I am attributing it to Longwy, in the very least, the Longwy style. The font has a wonderful stylized iris floral design in dark blue, green, yellow, light blue, and white. It stands 10″ high from its base to the base of the bulb socket. It is in working order, plugged in and it lights up. The bulb will not be included. The lamp shade clips are quite unusual. Shade is not present. It has a pull chain switch. The base measures 5″ in diameter. It has some crazing due to its age. Quite a rare and unusual lamp. (The lamp weighs 3 pounds without any packing material or box.) Information: The French term cloisonné literally means “compartmentalized,” referring to discrete sections of rich color. We usually think of cloisonné as a jewelry-maker’s technique; a jeweler creates a “skeleton” using bronze, gold, or silver strips or wires, then fills each compartment with molten enamel to achieve bright colors and a bold design in pendants, beads, and other pieces.
