Up for sale is: An open box but essentially mint condition Weta Workshop Lord of the Rings Orthanc – Black Tower of Isengard Environment Statue. The statue was displayed for several weeks in a glass case in an adult collector’s smoke-free and pet-free home after it was purchased in 2015, but was soon repacked and stored with care in an air-conditioned room until January 2024, when the pics shown in this listing were taken. The tower is 16.9 inches (43 cm) tall with a base that is 11.8 inches (31 cm) wide x 7.1 inches (18 cm) deep. Originally titled Orthanc (Pre-Ruin), it depicts Saruman’s stronghold of Isengard as still pristine and surrounded by trees as it first appeared when Gandalf the Grey unsuspectingly went to solicit Saruman’s aid in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Sculpted from polystone, the all black statue of the tower is large enough to capture all of the intricate sharp details of Orthanc while the base depicts the trees, grass, and gravel paths as they appeared prior to Isengard becoming a war factory for Saruman’s Uruk-Hai army. The Orthanc – Black Tower of Isengard was initially released in 2012 as a numbered edition of 400 pieces. This is the later open edition, which is essentially identical in every way except that does not include the gold-plated Eye of Sauron collector’s pin that came with the initial run. This was purchased new and unopened back in 2015 just after Weta discontinued the open edition. It comes in its original Weta shipping box and has a carton number of 79 of 200 and apparently was from the final run of this now rare and hard to find environment statue. The statue, packaging, and boxes (both the art and shipping ones) pictured in the listing are the same exact ones which you will receive. Welcome and thank you for checking out one of our listings.
